We are excited to announce that Chris and Ann Renard have expanded their business with the purchase of the Renard’s Cheese Store & factory located on County S in Algoma. Currently, they own the Renard’s Cheese & Deli located on County DK in Sturgeon Bay. “It is very exciting to better service our customers with the second location and we are looking forward to the continuity of both stores”. Both locations will feature fresh cheese curds daily as well as the handcrafted artisan cheese that Renard’s is famous for. Chris Renard is a third generation cheesemaker and he has also earned the prestigious Master Cheesemaker designation. Ann Renard brings a wealth of business knowledge along with many new exciting ideas to the company. The future looks very bright for Cheese making in Door County, Wisconsin! Renard’s Cheese is proud to announce that cheesemaker Chris Renard earned his Master Cheesemaker Certification. Receiving his certification in both Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese. The Master Cheesemaker Program is a rigorous course of study that requires a minimum of 10 years of licensed cheese making experience before one can even be considered for admittance. Once accepted, the program includes course work taught by some of the most accomplished educators in the cheese community, an apprenticeship, and a final written examination. The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker License is a prestigious title that less than 60 cheese makers in the country can lay claim to the designation. Renard’s Cheese is a family owned and operated business that is now on its third generation. Chris and Ann Renard have not only maintained a multi-generation family business, but have enabled it to grow in an increasingly complex economy.
